Eiffel Tower Photoshoot in Paris: The Best Locations & How to Book
Your Eiffel Tower
Photoshoot in Paris
Eiffel Tower’s most iconic viewpoint for a photoshoot:
TROCADERO
From across the Seine river, the view of Eiffel Tower from Trocadéro offers the most iconic and instantly recognizable view in Paris. With its wide esplanade, symmetrical lines, and unobstructed perspective, it’s the spot people picture when they imagine a classic Eiffel Tower photoshoot. This is also the most requested location for photo shoots at the EIffel Tower—perfect for couple, solo and family photoshoots in Paris, and timeless portraits. Mornings bring softer light and fewer crowds, while daytime sessions deliver that unmistakable Parisian energy. If you’re looking for a bold, cinematic backdrop that defines Paris at first glance, TROCADERO is the place… First a little overview :
BEST TROCADERO SPOTS
for an Eiffel Tower photo shoot:
Trocadero main square
and side terraces

Trocadéro Square is located on a raised area directly facing the Eiffel Tower, which makes it one of the best viewpoints in Paris for a photoshoot. Because of its elevated position, the Eiffel Tower appears fully visible and well framed in the background, without nearby buildings blocking the view.
The main square offers wide, open space, making it easy to move around and adjust angles during the shoot. Depending on where you stand and the lens used, the photos can give the impression that you are standing on a ledge overlooking the Eiffel Tower, creating a strong sense of height and perspective.
Trocadero steps / Eiffel Tower stairs

Trocadéro steps are located just below the main square, less than a two-minute walk away. This makes them very easy to include during the same photoshoot, without any extra travel time or effort.
Those stairs are a popular and effective spot for Eiffel Tower photos because they offer a clear, centered view with strong lines leading toward the monument. The Trocadero steps naturally create depth and structure in the images, which works well for both posed and candid shots. Sitting, standing, or walking on the stairs allows for a variety of compositions within a short distance.
Trocadero / Eiffel Tower Fountain

Go down the Trocadéro stairs and you’ll reach the Trocadéro Fountain, located in the center of the Eiffel Tower gardens. This position offers a very central and symmetrical view of the Eiffel Tower, making it an excellent spot for balanced and well-composed photos.
Because the fountain and large basin sit directly on the main axis facing the Eiffel Tower, the monument appears perfectly aligned in the background. When the fountain is filled with water, this area becomes especially interesting for photos, as the surface of the basin can be used to capture reflections of the Eiffel Tower. These reflections add depth and visual interest to the images without requiring complex setups.
Trocadero / Eiffel Tower Gardens

The gardens spread out on both sides of the Eiffel Tower fountain and offer a variety of settings with their lawns, trees, and seasonal flowers – they provide a softer, greener atmosphere compared to the more architectural viewpoints nearby.
Within the Eiffel Tower gardens, you can choose a more secluded and private spot among the trees, which works well if you prefer a calmer and more intimate feel. You can also shoot on the open lawns, where the Eiffel Tower remains clearly visible in the background and the space feels bright and open.
The gardens also include small walking paths, romantic benches, and a vintage carousel in the surrounding area. These elements are often used during photo sessions to add variety and a more Parisian touch to the images, making the photos feel natural and less posed while still keeping the Eiffel Tower nearby.
PLAN YOUR EIFFEL TOWER PHOTOSHOOT AT TROCADERO

IN SHORT :
BEST TIME TO SHOOT
Trocadéro is at its best IN THE MORNING. Sunrise can be extra nice in case of good weather, but it can be still dark in case of overcast weather and many people choose this time for their photos. Early morning offers calmer surroundings, open views of the Eiffel Tower, and the most flattering light — all before the area becomes crowded.
BEST SEASON OF THE YEAR
From spring blossoms to summer fountains and autumn colors, Trocadéro changes beautifully with the seasons. Even winter offers dramatic sunrises and fewer visitors, making every time of year a valid option when planned well.
BEST TYPE OF PHOTOSHOOT
This iconic location is perfect for couple & engagement sessions, families, and solo shoots, and it also works beautifully for proposal and wedding photos, but not everywhere. Choosing the right moment and setup is key to making the most of this very popular spot.

What Trocadero looks like :
BEST TIME
for your photo shoot at Trocadero
SUNRISE ✅
Sunrise is a popular and appealing time for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot at Trocadéro, especially for its calm atmosphere and open views before the city fully wakes up. When weather conditions are favorable, the early light can be very gentle and flattering. That said, sunrise can sometimes be affected by overcast skies, and it is also a well-known time slot for professional photoshoots in this area, which means you may encounter other sessions taking place at the same time.
MORNING ✅
Morning remains an excellent and often very comfortable alternative for a Trocadéro photoshoot. After the initial sunrise activity, the area often feels more relaxed while still being much quieter than later in the day. Light conditions tend to be more consistent, and there is more freedom to move between different viewpoints. As Paris photographers familiar with the area, we frequently continue the session in the Eiffel Tower gardens afterward, which usually stay peaceful during the morning hours.
AFTERNOON / EVENING / SUNSET ❌
We do not recommend shooting at Trocadéro in the afternoon, evening, or at sunset. At these times, the area becomes extremely crowded with tourists, visitors, and groups, making it difficult to move, frame clean shots, or enjoy a relaxed photo session. Contact us for alternatives if you’re not flexible with time.
Our top tip
Always start your photoshoot at Trocadéro. Other Paris photo locations can wait — this one works best when done first.

BEST SEASON
for your photoshoot at Trocadero
SPRING ✅
Spring is one of our favorite seasons for photoshoots at Trocadéro. The gardens come to life with blooming cherry blossom trees, fresh greenery, and colorful flowers. It’s a beautiful time of year to add softness and romance to your Eiffel Tower photos.
SUMMER ✅
Summer is ideal if you want lively and iconic Parisian scenery. The Trocadéro fountains are active only during this season, creating a spectacular backdrop with water movement and reflections. Early morning sessions work best to enjoy the atmosphere before crowds arrive.
AUTUMN ✅
Autumn brings warm tones and elegant autumn foliage to the gardens as the trees change color. The light is softer, and the scenery feels especially cinematic. As English-speaking photographers in Paris, we love shooting here in the fall for its rich colors and calm mood.
WINTER ✅
Winter offers a very different and often underrated atmosphere. Sunrises at Trocadéro are especially stunning, with dramatic skies and fewer people around. It’s also a quieter period compared to peak travel seasons, making it a great choice for peaceful photoshoots.

BEST TYPE OF PHOTOSHOOT
for your photoshoot at Trocadero
Engagement & couple photoshoot ✅
The entire Trocadéro area is a must for a romantic Paris engagement or couple photo session at the Eiffel Tower. The open views, iconic symmetry, and elegant surroundings make it one of the most photogenic locations in Paris for couples.
Surprise proposal ✅ but…
Trocadéro is a stunning setting for a Paris surprise proposal with a spectacular Eiffel Tower backdrop. However, it is not a quiet or intimate location. If you are looking for more privacy for this special moment, we usually recommend proposing in the Eiffel Tower gardens or choosing another nearby Eiffel Tower photoshoot location.
Family photoshoot ✅
Trocadéro works beautifully for Paris family photo sessions. We especially love the balconies, stairs, and different levels of the area, which allow for a more playful and dynamic approach. These spots are perfect for natural family interactions — and kids usually love them.
Paris elopement / wedding photos ✅
Trocadéro is an excellent location for wedding or Paris elopement photos with the Eiffel Tower. That said, it is too busy and exposed for an actual elopement ceremony with a Paris celebrant. For the ceremony itself, we recommend the Eiffel Tower gardens, the fountains, or another quieter Eiffel Tower location.
Solo photo session ✅
The entire Trocadéro area works very well for solo photo sessions of all kinds, including Paris quinceañera shoots, blogger or fashion sessions, personal branding, and lifestyle portraits. The variety of backgrounds allows for multiple looks within a single shoot.

OTHER GREAT SPOTS NEARBY TO COMBINE WITH TROCADERO
for your Paris Eiffel Tower photoshoot:
WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE
Eiffel Tower riverside

The riverside is one of the easiest spots to combine with a photoshoot at Trocadéro Square and its gardens, as it is located just across the street. In only a few minutes, you can move from the elevated viewpoints of Trocadéro to the Seine riverbanks, offering a completely different atmosphere without changing area.
This location is perfect if you want a wide, open view of the Eiffel Tower with the river in the foreground. The Seine adds depth and movement to your photos, creating elegant and timeless Parisian scenery. The stone embankments, bridges, and boats passing by provide natural variety, allowing for both classic Eiffel Tower portraits and more relaxed, candid moments along the water.
The riverside works especially well in the morning or late afternoon, when the light reflects softly on the river and the Eiffel Tower stands out beautifully in the background. It’s an ideal addition to your Paris Eiffel Tower photoshoot route, adding contrast and diversity while keeping everything close and easy to access.
Eiffel Tower Street views

This spot offers a different and more Parisian perspective on the Eiffel Tower by combining iconic views with charming streets and authentic Haussmann-style buildings. Instead of wide open spaces, you’ll get a more intimate atmosphere where the Eiffel Tower appears naturally between façades, rooftops, and classic street scenes from Paris.
These streets are perfect for adding a local touch to your Paris Eiffel Tower photoshoot, with elegant architecture, balconies, cafés, and typical Paris details creating a timeless backdrop. The mix of urban lines and the Eiffel Tower in the background gives your photos depth and character, ideal for both candid moments and stylish portraits.
Eiffel Tower street views are easy to combine with nearby locations such as Trocadéro or the riverbanks, making them a great addition to your photoshoot itinerary. They bring variety to your session while keeping the Eiffel Tower present in a subtle, refined way.
Bir-Hakeim Bridge

After Trocadéro, Bir-Hakeim Bridge is probably the most popular location for a photo session with the Eiffel Tower — and for very good reasons. This iconic bridge offers a striking mix of architecture, symmetry, and direct views of the Eiffel Tower, making it one of the most visually powerful spots in Paris.
The lower level of the bridge is especially famous for its impressive iron columns, repeating lines, and strong graphic perspective. It creates a cinematic atmosphere that works beautifully for elegant portraits, couple sessions, and fashion-style photos. Just a few steps away, the open sections of the bridge provide clear, unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower with the Seine flowing beneath, adding depth and movement to your images.
Bir-Hakeim Bridge is easy to combine with nearby locations such as the riverside or Trocadéro gardens, making it ideal for a varied photoshoot without long walks. It works well at different times of day, offering dramatic contrasts in the light and a timeless Parisian look that never goes out of style.
Eiffel Tower Cafes

There are several cute and romantic cafés located near Trocadéro Square, just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Sitting at a café terrace is such a typical Parisian experience and makes a perfect way to top off your Eiffel Tower photo shoot with a relaxed and authentic atmosphere.
Cafés bring a warm, lived-in feel to your photos, with small tables, wicker chairs, coffee cups, and classic Parisian façades creating a timeless backdrop. They are ideal for natural, candid moments—sipping a coffee, chatting, or simply enjoying the Parisian lifestyle—while still keeping the Eiffel Tower close by.
These café spots are easy to combine with nearby locations like Trocadéro, the gardens, or the riverside, adding variety and contrast to your session. They work especially well at the end of a shoot, when you want a more intimate, lifestyle-oriented setting that feels effortlessly Parisian and full of charm.

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe offers one of the most iconic Parisian backdrops and pairs perfectly with an Eiffel Tower photoshoot. COMMON QUESTIONS
FAQ
About Eiffel Tower Photoshoots
What is the best time for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot?
Morning overall is by far the best time for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot. The light is soft and flattering, the crowds are minimal, and you’ll have much more freedom to move between viewpoints like Trocadéro, the fountain, and Bir-Hakeim bridge. Sunrise can feel extra special, but only in case of good weather. Afternoon sessions are possible but the area becomes very busy, especially at Trocadéro. Evening and sunset work beautifully for atmospheric shots, especially at Bir-Hakeim bridge when the Eiffel Tower sparkles at night. We always recommend booking your session as early in the day as possible.
Where is the best spot for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot?
The most iconic spot is Trocadéro — a raised esplanade directly facing the tower, offering an unobstructed, symmetrical view that defines the classic Paris photoshoot. Within Trocadéro we love the main square, the fountain (perfect for reflections in summer), and the stairs for dynamic compositions. The Eiffel Tower view from Trocadero is one of the most unique you can have in Paris. Bir-Hakeim bridge is our top pick for evening and sunset sessions — the double-layer bridge frames the Eiffel Tower beautifully. The Seine riverbanks between Bir-Hakeim and Debilly footbridge are quieter and more intimate, ideal for proposals or romantic couple sessions. Your photographer will suggest the best combination based on your session type and time of day. You can find more about the views from Bir-Hakeim and Seine river on the Eiffel Tower here.
How much does an Eiffel Tower photoshoot cost?
Our Eiffel Tower photoshoots start from €160 for a 30-minute mini session at a single location. Most clients book a 1-hour session (from €220), which gives us time to shoot at 2–3 different Eiffel Tower spots — Trocadéro, the fountain, and the stairs — for a wider variety of images. All packages include professional editing and digital delivery of the full gallery. There are no hidden fees and no deposit required to book. See our full pricing and packages on the Pricing page.
Do I need experience posing for a photoshoot in Paris at the Eiffel Tower?
Not at all. The vast majority of our clients have never posed for a professional photoshoot before — and that’s completely fine. Our photographers guide you throughout the session with simple, natural prompts so you never feel stuck or stiff. We focus on capturing genuine moments, laughter, and interactions rather than rigid poses. Whether it’s a couple, a family with young kids, or a solo traveller, we’ll make you feel relaxed and comfortable from the first minute. You’ll forget the camera is there.
What happens if it rains on the day of my Eiffel Tower photoshoot?
Light rain can actually create stunning, moody Parisian images — some of our favourite photos have been taken in drizzly conditions. If the forecast looks truly unfavorable, we offer free rescheduling at no extra cost, subject to your photographer’s availability. We also know covered spots near the Eiffel Tower — arcades, museum courtyards, sheltered terraces — that work beautifully in any weather. If rescheduling is not possible, your deposit can be refunded. We’ll always be in contact with you beforehand to assess the conditions together.
How quickly will I receive my photos after the session?
Your fully edited photo gallery is delivered within 7–12 days of your session. If you need your photos sooner — for example if you’re leaving Paris quickly — we offer a VIP Express delivery within 24 hours for an additional fee. All photos are professionally edited and delivered via a private online gallery. You’ll receive the full gallery as high-resolution digital files, ready to print or share.
Can you do a surprise proposal photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower?
Yes — proposal sessions are one of our specialities. We work discreetly and will be completely invisible to your partner until the moment you propose. We’ll coordinate with you beforehand on timing, exact location, and the best angle to capture the reaction. Our most popular proposal spots near the Eiffel Tower are the Trocadéro esplanade, the Seine riverbanks (more intimate and private), and Bir-Hakeim bridge for evening sparkling tower shots. We help you plan every detail so the only thing you need to focus on is the question. See our dedicated Paris Proposal page for more details.
