Paris family photoshoot at Louvre
BY DAMIEN

A Paris family photoshoot is a great way to get professional family portrait photos and make these beautiful moments last that you spent together as a family in Paris. Damien, Paris based photographer at The Parisian Photographers, is a parent himself and will tell you all about this beautiful family photo session with Heather, Vincent & their toddler baby boy at the Louvre and Eiffel Tower:
Get an early start for your Paris family photoshoot
The weather is perfect on the day of Heather & Vincent’s Paris family photoshoot – I can’t wait to meet the couple with their little baby at the Louvre museum. As their English speaking Paris photographer I meet the family at 7 AM in the morning. This may sound like a very early meeting time. But actually the ideal time to start a Paris family photoshoot or any other Paris photo session is sunrise time. Because the earlier the better in Paris to avoid crowds and have beautiful soft morning light.
On the day of Heather & Vincent’s Paris family photoshoot the sun was rising already at 5:46 AM. So in this regard you may even say that we were late. However with a little baby it is always good to find a reasonable compromise with the starting time – because the Paris family photoshoot should be fun for everybody. Heather’s baby had a good nights sleep – and the parents as well – and the entire family was fresh and ready to smile!
Paris family photo session with baby boy
Heather & Vincent and their toddler son were adorable! I am a parent too and I know that it can be really hard sometimes to get your baby to do what you expect him or her to do. Being a parent requires a lot of patience. Being a Paris photographer during a Paris family photoshoot requires perhaps even more patience. But not for Heather & Vincent’s Paris family photoshoot. Their baby was in a great mood: all smiles and posing like a pro.
Sometimes it can be hard to make a baby look at the camera or at the parents. But with Heather & Vincent’s baby boy it was almost too easy. Of course after a while a baby gets tired or hungry. That’s why as experienced family photographer in Paris I recommend to book a family photo session in Paris that is not too long when you have a baby, toddler or small children. I would ideally recommend a one to two hours photo session. That’s also what Heather & Vincent had booked with me.
Eiffel Tower family portrait photoshoot
After the Louvre we take the subway (metro) to reach the Eiffel Tower. It is often easier to take the metro for Paris family photoshoots with a baby or toddler. Just bring a (small) stroller for the little walks. Because out of security reasons you are not allowed to take a cab with a baby if you don’t have a special seat for your baby.
When we arrived at the Eiffel Tower we were able to take a few more Paris family portrait pictures of the three of them before their baby son got tired and a bit grumpy. So wrapped it up quickly with a few last couple pictures of the parents at the Eiffel Tower. If you’re wondering where their baby boy was while I was taking pictures of the parents in front of the Eiffel Tower. He was right next to me playing with my backpack.
As Paris photographer as well as a parent myself I think that it is really important to take professional family pictures from time to time. Memories fade while pictures stay. Your Paris family photos will help you remember the good times you had together and how cute your children were at a certain age. Children grow up so fast! So let’s make these memories last.
As their local French family photographer in Paris I am really happy that Heather & Vincent loved their family photos in Paris. This is what they said about their Paris family photo session with me: “We are sooo happy about the pictures Damien did for us. Damien knew the best time to start and the best locations to go to. He really knew how to make us pose, despite the fact we were with our son. We had a lot of fun. Thanks again!”
