More about MARCUS:
Languages: English, French and German
Hi, I am Marcus, born German, trained American and slowly turning French.
I come from street- and portrait-photography and I like to keep my images dreamy but real at the same time, always looking for a natural style in composition and editing.
In my former life, I used to work for universities in Minneapolis and Baltimore, teaching literature and history, so I do know how to tell a story in words and images. Since 2016, I discover Paris with a camera in my hand and do know my way around to get the perfect shot for you.
When I don’t shoot photos, I develop them – film and digital alike – looking for the perfect skin tones and giving my images of ‘the city of lights’ the final touch.
In my non-photo-time I still do read and write a lot, preferably in a café or brasserie at Montmartre. Also I have an indecisive yet demanding cat that wants me to open my studio door to the garden about 20 times a day – thus making sure I am getting my daily workout. If I have something like a hobby it could be this: exploring cities and landscapes by bike and on foot – while taking photos.
I love getting to know new people from allover the world and to re-discover Paris with them. I do not compromise on proper planning of our shoot together, to make sure that you have a great experience – it shows on the pictures. It is my pleasure to work with you in the magnificent, yet ever-changing and challenging city of Paris.
